Compassionate, personalized postpartum care in Richmond, VA
Every family deserves to feel supported, rested, and confident in the early days at home with a newborn. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are—emotionally, physically, and logistically—so you can heal, bond, and thrive.
I offer Postpartum Doula services to support your family during the crucial transition into parenthood.
While you’re navigating your role as a newborn parent, I’m there to provide advice, feeding support (whether that’s with breast milk or formula, from a bottle or a parent), a listening and understanding ear, product and registry guidance, navigating difficult family situations, sleep support, and more, to make your postpartum journey that much more sweet.
On-call for baby’s arrival
Babies don’t follow schedules—and that’s exactly why I do.
To make sure I’m available when your baby arrives, I limit how many families I support. The retainer holds your place on my calendar and covers your first 7 nights of care, no matter when the baby arrives.
Your “first 7 nights” care package
$2,065 for singletons · $3,000 for twins
This fee includes:
- On-call availability around your due date, any day, any time
- Seven flexible overnight visits (you choose the nights)
- A prenatal planning session to get ready together
- Unlimited text and email support before and after baby arrives
During overnight visits, I’ll handle infant care while you sleep, offer feeding support, help with household resets, and provide reassurance through the inevitable questions and emotions that come up. Every family is different—my job is to adapt to your needs.
Most families continue care for at least 4 weeks after birth. This 7-night package is your starting point. We’ll build from there based on your needs, schedule, and how things evolve.
Continuing care
After your “first 7 nights” package, care continues only if and when you want it.
It’s completely normal to need support beyond the first week. In fact, most families work with me for the first month or two. We’ll check in regularly and adjust care as your needs shift.
Many families taper down gradually, schedule a few more nights after a partner returns to work, or bring me back for targeted help.
Hourly rates
$35/hr for singletons
$52/hr for twins
You’ll receive a weekly invoice based on hours used.

Answering your questions
The cost of hiring a postpartum doula varies depending on the level and duration of support you choose. At Olivia Cares, hourly rates start at $45, with most families booking 4–8 weeks of care. Support can include daytime or overnight visits, customized to your family’s needs. Packages are flexible and designed to grow with you—whether you need a few hours a week or more consistent coverage during the early postpartum period.
The retainer guarantees I’ll be on-call during your birth window, no matter when the baby arrives. We’ll stay in close contact and adjust timing as needed.
You’re welcome to continue care at an hourly rate. Some families book more nights right away; others wait to see what support they need. There’s no pressure either way.

I work with families in the greater Richmond area of Virginia, including Henrico and Chesterfield. If you’re unsure whether you’re in range, just ask.
Most families book 4 to 8 weeks of support. Some want steady help every night for the first month, others prefer a lighter, tapering schedule. We’ll make a plan that meets your needs and we can change it as we go.
