About Olivia

Hi! I’m Olivia Stevens, an experienced Postpartum Doula living and working in Richmond, VA.

I specialize in supporting families during the crucial fourth trimester, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and evidence-based information on baby care and postpartum recovery.

Mission

At the heart of this work is a calling—one rooted deeply in compassion, tradition, and love. As a Postpartum Doula, my mission is to provide nurturing, nonjudgmental support to families during one of the most sacred and transformative times in life: the early days of welcoming a new baby.

It is a true honor to be invited into the intimate space of new parenthood. I walk alongside you with respect, empathy, and calm reassurance—supporting not just your baby, but you, as you grow into this new chapter of your life.

You’re not alone. Even in the darkness of night, you are held, supported, and seen.

Experience & History

CPR/Basic Life Support & first aid: renewed yearly

CAPPA Postpartum Doula training: February, 2021

ToLabor Birth Doula training: January, 2017

I began supporting families as a doula in 2017, working first with birth clients. Over time, I discovered a deep passion for postpartum care and chose to focus exclusively on it in February 2021. I made that decision to better help families navigate the early days with a new baby.

Since then, I’ve supported numerous families full time through the transition into parenthood. Each experience has sharpened my understanding of the unique needs and challenges that arise during this important period.

Testimonials

“Olivia walked into a house already on fire—in spirit, not literally. Two wild redheads, newborn twins, and a family still recovering from a birth that coincided with both a hurricane and a tornado warning. Somehow, she brought calm without quieting us. She met the chaos on its own terms and helped us shape it into something livable. She juggled babies, mediated complex feeding and napping schedules, and navigated a minefield of choking and bonking hazards with grace and humor. She figured us out almost immediately—and stuck around anyway. That alone should tell you what kind of doula she is.”

“Olivia is the absolute best! She is amazing and so talented at caring for both newborns and helping the entire family. She immediately became a member of our family and we instantly trusted her completely. Olivia helped us with our second child, and the newborn and postpartum experience was so much better with her. She was there to support all of us and answer every question that came up. Best of all, she had our baby sleeping 12 hours by 12 weeks without any crying!”

“I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support Olivia provided our family during my first and second postpartum journey. From the moment she stepped into our home after my most recent birth, her calm demeanor and natural nurturing presence brought a sense of peace in reassurance that I desperately needed after bringing our premature son home. Olivia has an innate ability to tune into your needs, both spoken and unspoken, and her communicative and flexible approach made me feel truly cared for and understood. I wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone seeking compassionate and skilled support during this transformative period. She is truly one of a kind and still part of our family.”
